Tips

EIN – It will be necessary to apply for an Employer Identification Number as soon as acceptance of registration has been received from the Secretary of State. The IRS issues this identifier to each legitimate, tax-withholding entity in the country. Once obtained, your business will be eligible to hire employees, register for bank accounts, apply for loans, and perform a variety of transactions. The application process might seem confusing for some, and for this reason we have supplied a tutorial found linked in the heading of this paragraph. Reviewing our guide will provide you instructions on both the Online and paper filing procedures.

Partnership Agreement – We here at Start a Business highly recommend that representatives of all newly formed partnerships consider drafting a partnership agreement to organize their internal affairs. This document can be used to legally define the relationship between the members of the entity and the entity itself. There is no obligation to file with the Secretary of State, though we highly recommend that you take a moment to review the free template we have provided to see why these agreements are so beneficial. Click on the link at the heading of this paragraph to access the MS Word or PDF files we have provided.

Renewal – Partnerships in Wyoming will be required to submit a renewal each year with the Secretary of State in order to maintain a good business status. Through the process of filing an annual report, business representatives will be able to update the state with any changes that may have occurred over the course of the previous year. Filing is simple and can be accomplished online using your filing ID number (find your ID number with a business search). Failing to renew can result in additional fees and can change your partnership’s business status to delinquent. Click on the link at the heading of this paragraph to submit your online report as well as the required $50 filing fee.
