This tutorial has been designed to assist filers through the process of creating an online account with the Virginia State Corporation Commission. It is necessary that business representatives of limited liability companies create an account when registering an entity with the online portal. Filers will also be presented with the opportunity to perform additional tasks, such as purchasing a Certificate of Good Standing, notifying the state of any major business changes, or submitting annual reports. Partnership representatives will find little use from an online account since they can neither purchase additional certificates nor submit annual renewal applications.
How to Create an Online Account
Step 1- To begin, navigate to this website and supply the following information:
- First and last name
- Phone number
- Confirm email
- Confirm password
- Security questions and answers
Step 2- Specify as to whether an authorized business representative or registered agent is creating the account by selecting one of the two options. Continue by clicking the small box to verify that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions set forth by the SCC. Lastly, enter the security code into the entry fields and click Submit.
Step 3- When your account has been successfully created, an image will be displayed like the one shown below. Your account is now active and ready to use.
