Individuals looking to extend their foreign corporation into the state of Rhode Island may find the following filing tutorial of use. In essence, each filer will be required to submit a Certificate of Authority via mail to the Department of State along with a check made out for the corresponding filing fee ($310 for profit, $50 for non-profit). Additionally, you will need to provide your entity’s certificate of good standing or equivalent document.

Tips

Renewal– It is required that all corporations in the State of Rhode Island renew each year through the submission of an annual report. This will enable you to stay in good standing while keep the Department of State up to date with any significant changes that may have occurred over the course of the previous year. The cost of renewal will be $50  for profit entities, $20 for non profit and $60 for benefit. If submitting online, you will be able to make your payment through your subscriber account or by credit card. Otherwise, a check made out to the R.I. Department of State will be required.
