This webpage will take you through all the steps in the filing process to reserve an entity name in the State of Oregon. When forming a new business, having a unique operating name is essential for any entity’s registration documents to be accepted. If you have already chosen a name for your entity and would like to guarantee it’s availability when registering, you may file the Application for Name Reservation. The filing will reserve your name for up to 120 days, providing you with ample time to file your registration documents. All reservations cost a total of $100, a fee which can be paid by check made out to the Corporation Division.
How to File
Step 1- To begin, download the Application for Name Reservation.
Step 2- You must then submit the following information:
- Registry number
- Name being reserved
- Applicant’s name and address
- Mailing address (if different)
- Signature, printed name, and title
- Contact name
- Phone number
Step 3- Upon completion of this document, a filing fee must be attached in the amount of $100 (payable by a check made out the the Corporation Division). Send both the application and the fee to the address located below.
