This webpage is a dedicated tutorial committed to providing you with all the information necessary in registering a foreign LLC or PSLLC. You will find that filing in this sate is fairly straight forward, though there are a few unique things to go over specific to New York. Firstly, you will be required to file the Application for Authority form. Once completed, your application (or similar qualification of LLC/PSLLC) must be published in two newspapers within the county to which the office of the LLC/PSLLC in located. Publication must take place for six consecutive weeks, with one newspaper being “printed daily” and the other “printed weekly”.  More information will be provided within each specific tutorial.

Before scrolling down and starting your filing process, it is always a good idea to do a Business Entity Search to see if your desired entity name is available for use in New York. If the name you have chosen is already in use then your application will be refused. You may also reserve a name for up to 60 days prior to filing. To do so, follow the link located here.

Tips

Renewal– A biennial renewal statement must be made in order to remain in good standing with the Department of State. To do this you must have your DOS ID number available to you. If you are unaware of this number, a quick Business Entity Search for your LLC or PSLLC will provide you with this information. Once obtained, follow the link here to begin the process for renewal. A filing fee of $9 must be made, payable by credit card and debit card only, along with your renewal statement.
