The entire procedure is extremely straight forward and can be accomplished in minutes with the Secretary of State’s online filing portal. The primary use of this certification is to prove the legitimacy of an entity to foreign officials when expanding into outside jurisdictions. Filers will be required to submit a $50 filing fee, payable by credit card, along with their application.

How to Request

Step 1- The process of requesting a Certificate of Good Standing begins by logging into your online account. A tutorial on account creation has been provided if you have yet to register for an account.

Step 2- After logging in, you will need to access the online filing portal. Enter the name of your business into the entry field and click Search. A list will be presented containing each entity that matches the contents of your search. Scroll through the results until you’ve found the one your looking for. Click on the business, then click Next to proceed.

Step 4- A filing fee in the amount of $50 will be required to successfully complete your request for certification. Click Credit Card to proceed.

Step 5- On this last page, you will need to supply your credit card details to provide payment. Enter your name, card number, security code, billing address and the expiration date of the credit card before clicking Review Order.
