On the webpage below, we will go over the steps required to reserve an entity name in Nebraska. As the Secretary of State website is limited in its online filing capabilities, the name reservation forms will need to be submitted to the offices by mail with an attached check covering the appropriate filing fee.  Fees in this state are $15 for those filing to form LLCs or partnerships, and $30 for corporate filings. Regardless of the entity you wish to reserve for, the reservation will allow for a 120 day window in which to consolidate all necessary information in preparation to register with the Nebraska Secretary of State.

How to Reserve

Step 1- Begin by downloading the form that correlates with the entity type you plan on registering (linked below).

Step 2- Regardless of the entity type, the form will have you submitting the following information:

  • Name to be reserved
  • Date of filing
  • Signature of applicant
  • Name and title of applicant
  • Full address of applicant

Step 3- You must then print off the PDF in duplicate and sign both copies before attaching to the forms the filing fee indicated on the bottom left hand side of the document. Send all items to the below address for processing. You will receive an Acknowledgement of Filing of the Name Reservation if the name is available and a written notification otherwise.
