Filing for an LLC, be it standard or series, domestic or foreign, should require no more than the completion of a form and it’s subsequent submission to the Secretary of State. The filing fees vary for a few reasons. For one, series LLCs will have to fork over $50 for each series member on top of the original $70 filing fee. Additionally, Montana offers an expedited processing service for an additional $20 for 24 hour processing or $100 for 1 hour processing. If you plan to expedite you must add these fees to the normal filing fee associated with your LLC type.
How to File
Step 1- Before embarking on a new filing, always make sure that your desired operating name is available in Montana by cross-referencing the business entity database. Likewise, feel free to reserve your operating name for 120 days for $10.
Step 2- The next step in the registration process is to complete the PDF application associated with your business type. Select the appropriate LLC type below to redirect to its specific tutorial.
Step 3- Now that your PDF is completed, you must write a check out to the Secretary of State for the filing fee plus any fee for expedited processing which you wish to pay for. Have your application and the filing fee mailed to the below address.
