A Certificate of Good Standing (a.k.a. certificate of status or existence) is used as proof that a corporation, partnership or LLC has filed their annual reports on time and that they operate in compliance to Idaho State Law. This certificate can be useful for businesses wishing to apply for loans, open a bank account under the company name, or for domestic entities which would like to expand their business outside the borders of their home state. The cost of the certificate is $11.50 for an online copy or $12 for a paper copy signed by the Secretary of State.

How to Request

Step 1- You can begin the process by finding your way to the Business Entity Search and enter into the search bar the name of the business that you would like to purchase a certificate for.


Step 2- You should be able to find your company in a list on the second page. Click on the title to be brought to the next step.

idaho-certificate-good-standing-online-1Step 3- You will see all the details of your business at this stage, and at the top of the page, you will see the option to get a certificate. Click on this function to continue.


Step 4- You can choose between the online certificate ($11.50) which you will be able to print off at home or the official certificate ($12) which will be sent to you in the mail.


Step 5- You will then have to sign in using your username and password and enter the following billing and contact information to finish the process:

  • Name
  • Billing address
  • City
  • State/province
  • Country
  • Postal/zip code
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Payment method
