The Georgia Corporations Division of the Secretary of State has made obtaining a Certificate of Existence about as easy and simple as possible. This certificate, often referred to as a certificate of status or good standing, is used as proof that a company is operating legally within Georgia and that they have filed all necessary renewal reports with the Secretary of State. It is usually a requirement for companies wishing to conduct business in foreign states to supply a copy of the Certificate of Existence along with their Application for Authority or like form to prove their validity. The filing fee for this document is only $10 and the entire process can be conducted online in the span of a couple of minutes.
