For businesses in operation within the State of Delaware, obtaining a Certificate of Status/Good Standing can be extremely useful. These documents are primarily used to prove to foreign authorities or financial institutions that the entity holding the certificate is valid and up to date with all state filings and requirements. Obtaining a Certificate of Status/Good Standing can only be done by completing a basic form and submitting it by mail. The cost of the short form Certificate of Status is $50 for the short form while you can also request a long form Certificate of Good Standing for $175.

Step 1 – You can be begin by downloading the Corporate Certificate Cover Memo Form.
Step 2 – Fill in the Corporate Certificate Memo Form to the best of your abilities, ensuring that a note is written in the Notes/Comments section that specifically requests a Certificate of Good Standing/Status. The required information is as follows:
- Your priority choice (one hour, two hours, same day, 24 hours, or regular)
- Company/firm or individual’s name
- Return address
- City – state – zip
- Phone number
- E-mail address
- Account number
- Name of company/entity
- File number
- Type of certificate requested
- Method of return
- Credit card information
