What this certificate does is provide legal documentation that your business is financially up to date and is not delinquent on any necessary payments. How to File (Online)
Step 1 – You must first search for your business using the business entity search function on the Secretary of State website. If you are unfamiliar with how to use this database, you can follow the hyperlink in this sentence and learn how to Search the Businesses Database.
Step 2 – You will then be directed to a results page that will list all of the businesses that correspond with your search terms. You must locate the business you are looking for and ensure that it says Good Standing under the Status heading. Click the ID number of the business to continue.
Step 3 – You will now be taken to a summary page that lists detailed information about the business you have selected. Scroll down and you will find a link that is titled Get a certificate of good standing. Click this link to proceed.
Step 4 – You will then be taken to your Certificate of Good Standing. This certificate will available to you in PDF form and can saved and/or printed at your discretion.
