In order to reserve an entity name in Alaska, whether it be for a corporation, LLC, or partnership, it must be completed either online or through the printing and completion of a basic PDF application (Form 08-561). According to AS 10.35.020 the name will be available to the applicant for a period of one-hundred and twenty (120) days for a fee of $25. Before reserving the name you would like to use it is best to conduct a Search of the Business Database to ensure that the name is not currently in use by another entity. After performing the lookup and not finding any related matches the name you have selected will be ready to be reserved.
How to Reserve (Online)
Step 1- To reserve the name online go to this webpage and fill-in the following information:
- The name
- Mailing and business address
- Add owner(s)
- Click the checkbox at the bottom for the signature of the applicant
Step 2- Review your credentials that you have entered and you will be re-directed to the next page which will ask for your credit card information in order to pay for the $25 filing fee.
How to Reserve (PDF)
Step 1- If the applicant would like to make the filing by mail they may do some by first downloading the PDF Application.
Step 2- Next, the following information must be supplied:
- Check the box at the top that states the $25 filing fee
- 1-The name to reserve
- 2-Applicant name and address (physical and mailing)
Step 3- On the 2nd Page enter your contact information and attach the check payable to the State of Alaska/CBPL for $25. Send the documents and payment to the following address:
